Supply Chain Lead

The primary purpose of this role is to lead the local supply chain team at the Monroe Steel Processing facility. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to inventory management, on-time delivery, forecasting accuracy as well as plant scheduling and business planning. This requires organized, analytical problem-solver with ability to work in team-based environment with other business functions as well as lead local team successfully delegating and executing again business unit plan. This role has a customer ? driven focus so candidate must have excellent customer interface skills.
Participates in Monthly S&OP reporting and calls
Works with Sales to root cause and improve forecast accuracy
Performs day-to-day execution of the S&OP plan for supply and production planning including scheduling, set up, buying and order management
Leads and ensures compliance to lean efforts that pertain to Supply Chain including participating in gemba, conwip and leading daily supply chain MDI meeting
Responsible for inventory management (Raw, WIP, FG) including hitting aging targets and coordination with Sales
Manage expedites, order transfers, trial as needed
Participate in strategy calls, liaison (customer and mill) meetings, program launches, supply chain mtgs as required
Works with operations and sales, including other business units in terms of balancing plant scheduling and handling intercompany demands
Oversee local team and assist them in improving supply chain process
Leads local team to meet OTD metrics and works with Sales to root cause failures
Participate in weekly Operations staff and BU staff mtgs/conference calls as required
Identify roadblocks and work with Regional supply chain manager to address
Complete mid-year/FY evaluations for direct reports and participate for indirect reports
Clear understanding of our manufacturing processes, customer requirements and personnel capabilities
Promote and support safety goals as well as Worthington Philosophy

Desired Experience
Proficient at Microsoft office skills
Clear understanding of ERP/MRP including supply chain measurement techniques
Commercial experience - either outside or inside
Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Strong leadership and change management skills
Experienced in managing inventory and balancing OTD requirements
Experience in capacity planning and scheduling
Ability to act quickly and professionally to unplanned outages and customer demands
Ability to lead team and successfully delegate
Must be a self-starter and willing to enact change to improve process
Knowledge of steel processing industry a plus but not required
At least 5-10 years work experience in manufacturing
Bachelors or equivalent

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
